Artist Interview: Jennifer Contini Enderby





What is your name: Jennifer Contini Enderby

Do you have a formal art education or are you a self taught artist: SUNY Purchase BA Art History 

What is the style of your pieces:   Contemporary Art - mixed media- prophetic art

What is the medium in which you work: acrylic and mixed media 

What started you on your path as an artist: when i started living "Out of the Box"  

What is one of the most important things that art has brought to your life:  it's brought me freedom- this  outlet to shine beyond and above myself- all the while giving glory to God.

What is your favorite genre of art besides the one you work in:  -Antoni Gaudi architecture


Do you have art showings, and if so what are they typically like: yes, i 
show everywhere . cafe's,homeless shelters, galleries, store front 
windows etc... last show was a CHARITY art show - 
Combining Grace: A Tribute to Gilda Radner in TriBeCa
New York City.


Do you have a certain set of clothes you make art in: no- what ever i have on....usually my yoga pants.

What has been the most frustrating part of being an artist?  wrestling with the devil. 

What is your favorite sandwich of all time: Oh, SOnia... i love ya girl ;)! ummm... i like BLT's! the best thickest Canadian Bacon of course!---or a good burger. 

Has this year brought about any changes in your work, and if so what are they: changes in my work have been centered around the use of COLOR. i am moving toward one solid color... monotones -- it's all about----titanium white!

Who is your favorite artist alive or dead: mark rothko

What is the most moving piece of artwork that you have seen in person: Joan of Arc, 1879, Jules Bastien-Lepage (French), Oil on canvas  At the Metropolitan Museum of Art! you gotta see this painting SOnia... makes me cry every time i see her.

Do you have any animals, and what do they think of your work: ~  i do. 

Do you have any upcoming exhibitions you would like to share with us: July 9th- River Walk San Antonio, Texas
