Artist Talk / Reception Thursday March 3rd  1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Tyler Junior College’s art faculty member Philana Oliphant-Pace is teaching Drawing I & II, Three-dimensional Design as well as online Art Appreciation.  Philana was previously employed at the University of Texas at Tyler and taught as an art adjunct instructor at Tyler Junior College. 

Philana Oliphant-Pace has exhibited work nationally and internationally for over 25 years.  Her work has been included in several Museum Collections, and has received special recognition in numerous juried competitions.  She maintains an active studio practice in Tyler, Texas, where she continues to produce new bodies of work.  Mrs. Oliphant-Pace shares her knowledge with students, having taught art courses for the past 20 years at the elementary, secondary, college and university levels.  She also promotes art through her volunteerism to many outreach programs, coordinating exhibitions as well as serving as juror for competitions.  She hopes that her work adds positive and uplifting awareness.

Philana’s lyrical use of line is exquisite and captivating.  Her works enchant the viewer through form and invite journeys delivering powerful concepts of life and living.  No one will walk away disappointed from experiencing these pieces.
