Please join Norwood Flynn Gallery for an artist’s reception for David Leonard in “Art with a View” at BarBelmont in the historic, retro-chic Belmont Hotel, Wednesday, November 30, 2011, from 6-9pm.
The artwork of David is perfect for this venue, since some of his paintings depict views of Downtown Dallas, close-ups of the actual view of the Dallas skyline that you can see from the Hotel Belmont’s fabulous patio. Leonard’s paintings have been called by Jennifer Davis in the Dallas Observer, “…almost ethereal in nature, dodging the dreaded postcard comparison by leaps and bounds, and providing a surprising new outlook on the cityscapes we take for granted.” Leonard, a 2011 finalist for the Hunting Prize, has shown at Norwood Flynn Gallery since 2008. In 2009, he was named one of the 2009 New Dallas Nine at the Dart Slam at the f.i.g., in Dallas. His work is in collections throughout the US. He currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
