Artist Interview: Michelle Iglesias

What is your name: Michelle Iglesias

Do you have a formal art education or are you a self-taught artist: self-taught

What is the style of your pieces: primarily realism with the occasional abstract or impressionistic painting

What is the medium in which you work:  currently oil, previously acrylic

What started you on your path as an artist: finding the therapeutic value of painting after being diagnosed with cancer

What is one of the most important things that art has brought to your life:  balance

What is your favorite genre of art besides the one you work in:  surrealism

Do you have art showings, and if so what are they typically like:  Many of my art showings have been with other artists with a non-defined subject.

Do you have a certain set of clothes you make art in: 90% of my wardrobe has the identity of an artist with a mish-mosh of splattered colors

What has been the most frustrating part of being an artist? not finding enough time to paint

What is your favorite sandwich of all time: peanut butter, potato chips and jelly

Has this year brought about any changes in your work, and if so what are they: Every year brings changes to my artwork as my brush continues to mature. 

Who is your favorite artist alive or dead: Torran Bagamary

What is the most moving piece of artwork that you have seen in person: Mona Lisa

Do you have any animals, and what do they think of your work: I have four dogs and they take part ownership in most of my art because their fur seems to make its way into each piece I paint.
