Call to Artists Memphis Tennessee

Request for Qualifications
University of Memphis

 
The University of Memphis seeks an artist to design, fabricate and install a naturalistic, life-size (or slightly larger) bronze tiger sculpture. The commission includes the design of the sculpture, the base and an additional design element for donor recognition. Selected finalists will be paid a fee of $1,500 for a detailed sketch and budget. The final project budget is to be determined by the selected artist and the University of Memphis Foundation.

The University of Memphis is one of Tennessee's three comprehensive doctoral- extensive institutions of higher learning. Located in the state's largest city, it is the flagship of the Tennessee Board of Regents system. With an enrollment of approximately 22,000 students, the University of Memphis has 24 Chairs of Excellence, more than any other Tennessee university, and 5 state-approved Centers of Excellence. It awards more than 3,000 degrees annually and has more than 120,000 living alumni. This Call for Artists is open to all artists living in the United States. The selected artist will have demonstrated skill in the design of naturalistic, sculptural forms and in the successful creation of such forms in bronze.
