The Ranch strives to create a community of artists-in-residence that reflects a rich mix of artistic styles and ethnic, social and human diversity.  Anderson Ranch actively seeks applicants from all backgrounds, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, marital status, ancestry, disability, HIV status, or veteran status. Specific funding for artists of racial and ethic minorities is available to the Ranch from the Joseph Foundation.

Responsibilities of Artists-in-Residence

While at the Ranch, all residents are expected to comply with the Ranch’s policies and procedures which are designed to maximize the experience for all Ranch program participants, staff and supporters.  The Ranch will provide each resident with a studio space (not necessarily private), limited/scheduled access to trained programmatic staff, private dorm-style housing and approximately eighteen meals per week.  Residents are responsible for full payment of a $100 residency fee, transportation to and from their home to the Ranch, materials and supplies, meals not provided by the Ranch, shipping of works of art, materials and personal property.  Residents will be responsible for studio costs beyond what is programmatically available. (i.e., lengthy kiln firings, large printings, etc.).  Each resident will be required to remit a $250 refundable security deposit.

The Ranch expects all residents to live and eat all meals at the Ranch during the term of their residency.  Although from time to time there may be room for occasional Residents’ visitors, the Ranch is unable to accommodate overnight guests or pets during the residency period.
