Art Chicas, now in its fourth year, is a collaborative program between La Reunion TX, Dallas Art Dealers Association, Deaf Action Center and Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. Four jury selected adult female artists are commissioned to create new work through this program. Work is created in and around the 35 acre La Reunion outdoor studio and gallery in Oak Cliff. In addition to a stipend and materials budget, artists are also given a small group of four apprentices to help her to complete her work. Apprentices come from area high schools, Girl Scouts, Deaf Action Center, Buckner International and more. Dallas Women's Foundation provided the seed funding in 2007. Proposals in all media considered. Deadline for proposals is Sept 3.
