Big Medium is now accepting applications for the second annual Tito's Prize! Austin artists are invited to apply until May 31. Please review the full guidelines before applying.
The Tito’s Prize is funded by a generous gift from Tito’s Handmade Vodka and facilitated by Big Medium. The award includes a solo exhibition during the 2018 East Austin Studio Tour in the Big Medium Gallery at Canopy. This opportunity is available to any artist living and working in Austin. For this purpose, Austin is defined as the area contained within the ten city council districts. Artists working in any artistic media and at any stage in their career are eligible.
A three member curatorial panel will unanimously select the prize-winning artist. The curatorial panel includes Andrea Mellard, Director of Public Programs & Community Engagement at The Contemporary Austin; Dennis Nance, Galveston Arts Center Curator and artist; and Veronica Roberts, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Blanton Museum of Art.
The winner of the Tito’s Prize will be announced July 17, 2018. The winning artist’s solo exhibition will open on October 19 in the Big Medium Gallery and run through the 2018 East Austin Studio Tour, closing on November 18.
