PROXIMIDAD is a two-month-long, self-directed residency for two artists, invited by The Power Station in Dallas, Texas, and Cerámica Suro in Guadalajara, México.
The first month will be spent in Guadalajara, Mexico, working with Cerámica Suro toward an exhibition organized by the Cerámica Suro factory.
The second month will be spent in Dallas, Texas, working toward an exhibition at The Power Station, resulting in a culmination of two separate exhibitions that ruminate on the practices, processes and interactions of the exchange.
The artists are encouraged during their stay to act as cultural ambassadors of their respective countries, to develop professional, working relationships that successfully mediate shared time-space experience, and to connect with the respective art communities to facilitate the creative exchange in both cities.
An annual rotation of guest advisors, culled from notable curators, artists and institutional directors will assist in the selection process.
